Factory Bike Friday: Jeremy Martin’s YZ250F

Factory KYB and Enzo does the particular suspension for the Star Racing Yamaha team, and according to team auto technician Richard Sterling, Jeremy Martin enjoys his suspension to have a soft really feel initially, but once it gets into the stroke he likes it a little bit stiff, although not too harsh.

Martin runs the factory triple clamp set with standard 22mm offset, although the clamps are something that Sterling said Yamaha made especially for Martin.

As far as the brakes, up front, the particular team uses an over-sized Braking rotor, with stock calipers and Braking hangers.

“The front rotors are 3mm in the back and 2 . 5mm in the front to save a little weight, ” states Sterling.

The wear out is an FMF full titanium with a carbon tip, which are also specially made for the team.

Sterling says the engine function is done in-house, however engine man Brad Hoffman works closely with Yamaha. “Brad works his rear off in the dyno room coming up with a power package for Jeremy, ” says Sterling. “Jeremy likes his power to come on hard in the bottom end and then he likes it to smooth out at the top, so he is able to manage it out of the corners. ”

Crank Works really does the cranks for the team, and GYTR supplies the clutch assemblies.

As far as controls, Jeremy’s pubs are Pro Taper with the Carmichael bend. Levers are ARC, and the grips are Pro Taper “white soft. ”

Based on Sterling, Jeremy has him cut all the “waffles” off the grips.

The pegs are Raptor, and Sterling keeps them extremely sharp.

The hubs are factory Yamaha with Stand out rims, with Dunlop tires mounted.

The radiators are stock, although they have been beefed up with welds in strategic places.
