Manufacturer Bike Friday: Andrew DeLong’s Husqvarna FE 350

Mechanic: Joey Maurer

Andrew DeLong took a big win this past weekend at the Snow Shoe National Enduro in Grand Junction, Colorado, extending his lead in the title run after to a relatively safe 17 factors. Before the race, we took a closer look at DeLong’s factory Husqvarna FE 350 with the help of DeLong’s mechanic Joey Maurer.

According to Maurer, Andrew utilizes the same suspension for national enduro that he uses for GNCC, although it’s a tad bit much softer. At the rocky ones, like the Co round, the suspension is set even softer.

“Andrew likes his suspension to be “free” so it’s simple to ride, he doesn’t like that lifeless feeling – he wants it to be a little bit lively, ” says Maurer.

The suspension is maintained by Ride PG Suspension.

As far as the engine, Maurer says there exists a lot of bottom end, and Andrew likes to roll on the power therefore he wants it to be strong right from the get-go. “Not so much like a motocross hit, ” says Maurer. “Just a good strong bottom part. ”

As far as the brakes, Maurer says Andrew likes them to be as strong as he can get. “Obviously at the enduros you’re pushing every corner to the limit, so you have to have something that stops you better than at a GNCC, where the courses are a little more flowing, ” says Maurer.

Maurer runs works brakes on Andrews bike, which is stronger.

Andrew runs the Neken triple clamps, which have the built in handlebar absorbers. The clamps also change the counteract to 22mm.

In the motor division, Andrew runs a Rekluse guide clutch. Meanwhile, the exhaust system is an FMF F4. 1 .

The bars are ProTaper with ARC levers and AME Grips.
