Mechanic: Corey MacDonald

Virginia off-road racer Brad Bakken has been a Yamaha guy for the past few years, first with Randy Hawkin’s Was Pro Yamaha team and most recently with MotoSport. com with help from Hawkins. He also rode an Obermeyer Yamaha a few years back.

Bakken is known regarding his blazing speed through the forest and his bikes have pretty significant power for a woods bike, however one thing Bakken says he couldn’t race without on his YZ250FX is the DP oversized front rotor.

Bakken has switched backwards and forwards the last few years between a two-stroke and a four-stroke, but took a big win last year at the Virginia circular of the enduro series on a four-stroke and says he’s feeling here at home on a 250FX for forest racing these days.

Factory connection does Bakken’s suspension and tells us he likes it really progressive and on the softer side. “I like to have a lot feel on my front tire as well as the 20mm offset Ride Engineering multiple clamps help a lot with that, ” adds Bakken.

Bakken runs Pro Taper “Universal Low” bars, Pro Taper half waffle soft grips and a G2 throttle tube.

To protect the engine, he runs a massive light weight aluminum UniBiker skid plate.
